This lesson walks the learner through what information they should expect to be provided at the beginning of the budget year, how to read and understand those materials, and what challenging questions they need to discuss with their CXO before the year begins. It then teaches the student how to monitor both the performance of the hospital and their individual departments) each day against the budget. Finally, it discusses what actions to take if performance is behind budget.
